“The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind.”

Maryland EXCELS means quality.

We are proud to be a participating child care program in Maryland EXCELS. Maryland EXCELS is committed to providing the best possible education and care. High-quality child care and education builds stronger communities, supports family success, and improves student outcomes in school and in life.

Our Land Is Your Land

Our campus is situated on a three-acre rural lot in the heart of Harford County which provides ample space and opportunity for outside play and has chickens, birdhouses, and children’s gardens.

Before/After School Care

Transitions can be very difficult for young children and so our care programs are designed to be the best option for families who need extended care by meeting those needs within a single, familiar environment.

Age-Level Learning

Our programs are curated for four different age groups; 6 weeks-2 years old, 18 months-3 years old, 3-6 years old, and 6-12 years old.

The Montessori Method

Our school philosophy is based on the method of education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and the belief that humans want to learn.

Through her research, Dr. Montessori discovered that children have natural curiosity and an innate desire to learn. She found that human beings have periods of development that are “sensitive” to different areas of growth and learning.  Being exposed to a concept or skill during a corresponding “sensitive period” provides a child an opportunity for true understanding, not just rote memorization. These periods are optimal times for children to discover abilities and master them. Montessori teachers are trained to recognize these “sensitive periods” and guide the child on an optimal learning path.

Learning you can do together

Whether you have always planned a Montessori education for your child or you have recently discovered Montessori, we offer several introductory classes to help parents determine if our school is a good fit. Our Parent and Child classes are a great opportunity for parents to experience the Montessori classroom with their child.
